Queen Alia International Airport (AMM) posted strong growth in 2017 to achieve a figure of 7.9 million passengers flying in and out of this, Jordan’s busiest airport. There are over 70 international destinations available to travellers from AMM, including Chicago and JFK, Bangkok, Istanbul, Dubai and Doha, Cairo and Tunis and multiple European destinations. These include some smaller airports such as Athens, Bucharest, Bologna and Krakow, but also major routes like London Heathrow, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Vienna and Paris Charles de Gaulle. The non-stop Air France service to Paris links Amman residents to the airline’s impressive global network of over 200 other destinations. These include many cities in North and South America, as well as particularly dense coverage of eastern and western Europe.

If you’re on a flight leaving from Queen Alia International Airport (AMM), you’re following in the footsteps of history - the first time the massive Airbus A380 landed at an airport anywhere in the Levant was a flight to AMM in September 2016.

The first company in the Arab world to be listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange was originally based in Amman. Founded in 1982, the Aramex logistics and mail delivery firm is now based in Dubai.

Queen Alia International Airport is located 30 km south of Amman. From the city centre by car, the quickest route is generally via Route 35 and Route 15, turning off at the Airport Interchange. The journey takes 30 to 50 minutes.

There are VIP, premium and economy car parks, as well as a drop-off/pick-up zone (currently free for first 10 minutes). There is a free shuttle bus from the economy lot to the terminal.

The Sariyah airport express bus is the main public transportation link between the city and AMM. It leaves from North/Tabarbour Station at half-hour intervals between 6.30am and 5pm, then hourly until midnight. The trip takes 45 to 60 minutes and passengers may also be picked up at the 7th circle.

Yellow and white taxis operate to the airport as well.
